Arch ∩ l'Arc

Arch/L'Arc is a creative arts journal for the students, faculty, and staff of the Royal Military College of Canada and the wider Kingston Community.

Limit one submission per file. Participants may submit multiple works only if each work is submitted separately.

All

 submitted works must be original and unpublished works. Texts must be 

written in English, French, or a combination of the two. Works that have

 published in any form, in print, on the Internet, or otherwise, 

including self-published works, as well as works that have been 

broadcast or delivered in front of a public audience, are considered 

previously published and are therefore not eligible for submission. 

Previously published authors may submit texts providing that the 

submissions are unpublished works.

Candidates warrant they have 

created the work they are submitting and that they own all rights to it.

 Candidates will indemnify and hold Arch and their affiliates, 

harmless from and against any and all loss, damage, costs and other 

expense arising out of claims, whatever their nature, resulting directly

 or indirectly from breach of this warranty.

In accepting 

the publication of their work, the winners and finalists grant to 

Arch, for the entire term of all rights, the following licenses: 

• The
  right to reproduce and publish the work on the websites and platforms
  controlled or authorized by Arch and on any future merchandise;
  net income from any use of merchandise shall be used solely for the
  maintenance and upkeep of the publication.

• The
  right to edit, abridge or excerpt the work for the purposes of
  publication or broadcast. (The author will be consulted if significant
  edits are necessary)

Works are judged anonymously on
the basis of the author's use of language, originality of subject and
writing style. Submissions are processed by a blind, two-tiered system
of readers and jurors. The initial texts are screened by readers on the
executive committee. Each text is read by at least two readers.

All decisions by the readers and the jury are final. Readers'

 and jurors' names are confidential until the end of the competition to 

ensure the judging process remains blind.

Should participants 

make any false statement, they shall be automatically removed from the 

publication roster. If plagiarism is alleged, the jury shall conduct a 

reasonable inquiry in the circumstances, and if it determines that 

plagiarism has occurred, the participant concerned shall be 

retroactively removed from all further publication. Such a decision by 

the jury shall be final and cannot be appealed. 

All personal 

contact information, such as your name, telephone number, and email 

address, is collected solely for the purposes of administering this 

submission routine as well as recognizing your name in the Arch 

publication, and shall not be used for any other purpose without your 

consent. It will also not be revealed to readers during the selection 

process. By providing this information, you consent to it being used for

 the stated purposes.

By entering, participants agree to abide by the regulations and submission guidelines as set forth on this form.

Il y a une limite d’une seule soumission
par fichier. Les participants peuvent soumettre plusieurs travaux séparément. 

Toutes les œuvres soumises doivent être des
œuvres originales et inédites. Les textes doivent être rédigés en anglais,
français, ou dans une combinaison des deux. Les travaux qui ont déjà été publiés
sous quelque forme que ce soit; dans la presse, sur Internet, ou autrement, ainsi
que des œuvres ayant été diffusées ou livrés devant un public, sont considérés
comme ayant été publié précédemment et ne sont donc pas éligibles pour la
soumission. Les auteurs qui ont déjà été publiés peuvent soumettre des textes si
ces derniers correspondent aux normes précédemment énoncées.

Les candidats certifient qu’ils sont les véritables
auteurs des textes soumis et qu’ils sont détenteurs des droits sur ces derniers. L’Arc et leurs sociétés affiliées, ne peuvent être tenues responsables
de toute perte, dommage, coût ou autres frais résultant de la soumission de
texte de création littéraire.

En acceptant la publication de leurs
travaux, les gagnants et les finalistes accordent à L’arc les licences
suivantes :

Le droit de reproduire et de
publier des travaux sur les plateformes et sites Internet contrôlés ou
autorisés par L’arc et sur toute la marchandise future; le bénéfice net
de l’utilisation de la marchandise ne sera utilisé que pour couvrir les coûts
de la publication.

·        
Le droit de modifier, d’abréger
ou de présenter des extraits du travail aux fins de publication ou de
diffusion. (L’auteur sera consulté si des modifications importantes sont
nécessaires.)

Les travaux seront évalués de façon anonyme
sur la base de la qualité de la langue, de l’originalité du style et du sujet.
Les soumissions seront traitées de manière anonyme, avec deux niveaux de
lecteurs et un juré. Les textes initiaux sont sélectionnés par le comité
exécutif. Chaque texte sera lu par au moins deux lecteurs.

Toutes les décisions
prises par les lecteurs et le jury sont sans appel. Les noms des lecteurs et
des juges demeureront confidentiels jusqu’à la fin de la compétition pour assurer
l’équité du processus de sélection. 

Les participants effectuant de fausses
déclarations seront automatiquement supprimés de la liste de publications. S’il
y a tentative évidente de plagiat, le jury se réserve le droit de procéder à
une enquête raisonnable. Tout participant ayant effectué du plagiat sera banni
de toute publication, et ce, de manière rétroactive. Une telle décision est
définitive et ne peut être portée en appel.

Toutes les informations confidentielles,
telles que votre nom, numéro de téléphone et courriel, sont recueillies
uniquement à des fins administratives ainsi que pour reconnaitre votre nom dans
la publication l’Arc, et ne seront pas utilisées sans votre consentement.
Ces informations seront par ailleurs tenues confidentielles lors du processus
de sélection. En fournissant ces informations, vous consentez à leur
utilisation aux fins énoncées.

En soumettant leur travail, les participants s’engagent

à respecter les règlements et directives de soumission tel qu’indiqué sur ce

formulaire.
